GUEST ART COACHES – OPEN

General Responsibilities:

To create and implement a a variety hands on arts & crafts program that incorporates recycable art, nature and tye dye projects for the campers.  We will be filling this position with a variety of Artists from the community who may have a special talent.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Elementary Art Teacher;
  • Experience working in camp setting;
  • Desire and ability to work with children in the outdoors;

Salary: $20.00 per hour – Hours 9:00 a.m. – Noon

Arts & Crafts Director – FILLED

Camp Counselor Description – OPEN

General Responsibilities:

To supervise campers and assist in their positive growth during camp. Responsible to Camp Director.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of one year of college experience.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Desire and ability to work with children in the outdoors.
  • Ability to relate to one’s peer group
  • Solid character, integrity, and adaptability

Essential Job Functions

  • Ability to communicate and implement programs to a wide range of participants with varying ages and skill levels.
  • Ability to observe and assess participants and contractual staff behaviors to assess their appropriateness, and to enforce safety regulations and emergency procedures.
  • Implement techniques that promote growth and positive interactions among individuals and groups.
  • Cognitive and communication abilities to plan and conduct diverse educational and recreational programs.
  • Visual, physical, and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to camp activities and operations.
  • Physical ability to navigate hilly terrain and respond appropriately to situations requiring First Aid.
    Salary: $8.25 – $15 per hour depending on experience and education level
    Hours: 32 – 40 hours a week

Counselor In Training (C.I.T.) Description – FILLED

General Responsibilities:

To assist camp counselors for designated age groups with set up and implantation of key elements of the camp program. Responsible to Camp Director.

  • Entering Freshmen Year of High School
  • Desire and ability to work with children in the outdoors
  • Ability to relate to one’s peer group
  • Good character, integrity, and adaptability

Essential Job Functions 

  • Ability to communicate and implement programs to a wide range of participants with varying ages and skill levels.

Specific Responsibilities 

  • Assist set up, implementation and tear down of camp events and activities including but not limited to: Cookouts, Games, Sports, Equipment, Crafts, and special activities.
  • Take an active role. This means that counselors must participate in all the activities that the campers do. Counselors must swim, play games, make crafts, etc.
  • All applicants must be available to work every week from Monday through Friday 9:00 – 3:30 p.m.
  • Attend staff orientation and complete staff training.
  • Attend Camper Open House.
  • Be fair and impartial in working with the campers and other staff.
  • Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving in the group.
  • Supervise care and use of camp equipment and supplies.

These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.

Salary: $250 per week stipend

There are ONLY 8 Positions each summer –  4 females and 4 males.
