Kathy has devoted her life and professional career to supporting children in being the best they can possibly be, and achieving their goals and dreams.

As a coach, educator, and non-profit leader, Kathy has spent the past 35 plus years pursuing her passion—healthy and happy kids.

Her career has included leadership positions with organizations like Children’s Place Association, YWCA, National Runaway and

the Starlight Foundation.

In 1995 Kathy took her passion for sports and combined it with her belief in helping girls have a voice and a safe place to pursue an active, healthy lifestyle, to create A Sporting Chance Foundation (now Girls in the Game).   Girls in the Game has impacted the lives of over 50,000 girls, and is a nationally recognized leader in girls sports and fitness.

Her hard work and deep passion earned her the prestigious Mercedes Mentor of the Year Award, Sports Women of the Year Award, and LaRabida Children’s Hospital Heart Award.

Twenty three ago she created Kids Playing Camp to create an affordable space where children can have fun, while learning the values of respect, diversity, acceptance and kindness.  Not only has it achieved all its goals for more than 4,500 children, it has also created a safe place where Chicago kids can have fun in the summer months.

The co-parent of four, Kathy has been a sports coach and youth mentor and advocate for more than 35 years.  She is passionate about applauding every child’s unique abilities and bringing out the best in every one of them.
